How to Withdraw Your WanderWallet Balance After a Trip

WanderWallet Published November 1, 2026

You’ve finished your trip, but there’s still money in the app. You can withdraw your WanderWallet balance to a supported bank account once you’ve completed the required bank-transfer verification. Choose USD, EUR or GBP, check the fee and receiving amount, then follow the transfer in the app.

TL;DR

  • Bank withdrawals require additional verification with our banking partner. The app shows the routes available to your account.
  • Open Transfer, choose USD Bank Transfer, EUR Bank Transfer or GBP Bank Transfer, and add your bank account as a recipient.
  • Enter the total you want to send, review the fee and receiving amount, then confirm.
  • Follow the existing transfer in the app. Do not send a second withdrawal because the first is still processing.

Your Balance Stays in Dollars Until You Send It

Money left after a trip isn’t a collection of leftover reais, pesos and bolivianos. Your WanderWallet balance stays in dollars, with conversion happening when you make a local payment. Our guide to how WanderWallet moves your money explains that part.

For a bank withdrawal, you choose the receiving currency. A USD transfer pays a supported US bank account through ACH. A EUR transfer uses SEPA, the euro bank-transfer network. A GBP transfer uses Faster Payments for UK bank accounts.

Choose the currency and account details your bank supports, rather than the country you have just visited.

Before You Start

Bank withdrawals are available to users who have completed the required verification with our banking partner. Creating a WanderWallet account alone does not complete this step.

If you don’t see a bank-transfer option, or the app says your account isn’t ready, contact us through in-app chat or support@wanderwallet.io. We can help you check what is needed for your account. Do not use a local merchant payment or somebody else’s bank details as a workaround.

If you’re looking for instructions on putting money into the app instead, use our deposit guide. A withdrawal is a separate transfer: you select the bank account that should receive it.

How to Withdraw Your WanderWallet Balance

1. Choose Your Receiving Currency

Open Transfer and select the bank-transfer option you need:

OptionReceiving AccountTransfer Network
USD Bank TransferSupported US bank accountStandard ACH
EUR Bank TransferSupported euro account with an IBANSEPA
GBP Bank TransferUK bank accountFaster Payments

Only use details intended for that transfer network. For example, a US bank may give you different routing numbers for ACH and wires. This flow uses ACH.

2. Add Your Bank Account as a Recipient

Tap Add Recipient, or choose an account you’ve already saved. Use the account holder name exactly as it appears at your bank.

Have these details ready:

  • USD: bank name, ACH routing number, account number, checking or savings account type, and the account holder’s physical address. A PO box isn’t accepted.
  • EUR: bank name, bank country and IBAN. A BIC can also be entered. The bank country must match the IBAN and be supported by the app.
  • GBP: bank name, eight-digit account number and six-digit sort code.

Copy the details directly from your banking app where possible. Saving the recipient does not send money.

If you’ve saved incorrect details, add a new recipient with the correct information and remove the old one. Don’t assume an old saved account is still the right destination.

3. Enter the Amount

For money left after a trip, entering a USD total is usually the simplest choice. This is the total you spend from your WanderWallet balance, including the transfer fee.

For example, if you enter a $50 total, the fee comes out of that $50. Your bank does not receive the full $50 plus a separate fee charged later.

For EUR and GBP, the app may also let you enter the amount you want your bank to receive. If you use that option, review the required USD total before continuing. It may be more than the balance you intended to withdraw.

The app checks minimums and available balance. If a small remainder is below the permitted amount, ask support about your options rather than adding more money just to try to withdraw it.

4. Review Before Confirming

Tap Review Transfer and check:

  • The account holder and receiving account.
  • The total leaving your WanderWallet balance.
  • The transfer fee.
  • The currency and amount your bank will receive.

For a USD-total transfer into EUR or GBP, the receiving amount is an estimate. Conversion takes place when the transfer is funded, and the final amount appears in the transfer details.

If you select an exact EUR or GBP receiving amount instead, the review shows the USD total needed for that amount.

When everything is correct, tap Confirm Withdrawal and complete the confirmation in the app. Check carefully: you cannot cancel a bank transfer after confirming it.

What Happens After You Confirm

A bank withdrawal follows the receiving bank’s transfer process. Don’t expect it to behave like an instant QR payment at a cafe.

USD transfers use standard ACH, so weekends and US bank holidays matter. EUR transfers use SEPA, where bank processing can also add time. GBP transfers use Faster Payments, but the receiving bank may still need time to make the money available.

Open the transfer details to check progress. Transfer Processed means the transfer has been processed; it does not always mean the balance is already available in your banking app.

If the money hasn’t arrived, check the receiving account and the existing transfer first. Do not send it again. If it is taking longer than expected, contact support from the app with the transfer details.

If a bank returns a transfer, returned funds are credited to your WanderWallet balance once received. Returns are not instant. Incorrect details that point to a different valid account can be much harder to recover, which is why the recipient check matters.

Already Use a USDC Wallet?

The Polygon USDC option lets you send native USDC to a compatible external wallet or exchange. It is a different destination from a bank account.

Only use it if the receiving service explicitly supports native USDC on Polygon PoS. Do not choose another network or bridged USDC.e. Check the address and network before confirming: an on-chain transfer generally cannot be reversed.

You do not need to use this option to make a supported bank withdrawal.

Need Help With Your Withdrawal

Start in Transfer, choose the bank currency, and check the total before confirming. Then follow that withdrawal in the app until it is resolved.

If an option is missing or something looks wrong, use in-app chat or email support@wanderwallet.io. We can help you check the existing transfer without creating another one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Withdraw My Remaining WanderWallet Balance to a Bank Account?

Yes, once you have completed the required bank-transfer verification and a supported withdrawal route is available to your account. Open Transfer, choose the receiving currency, add your bank account as a recipient and review the withdrawal before confirming.

Which Currencies Can My Bank Receive?

The bank-transfer routes are USD through standard ACH, EUR through SEPA and GBP through Faster Payments. Your receiving account must support the selected route. The app shows the options available to your account.

Does the Amount I Enter Include the Withdrawal Fee?

When you enter a USD total, that total includes the transfer fee. The review shows the fee and receiving amount. For EUR or GBP, an exact receiving-amount option may also be available; review the total USD cost before confirming.

Why Is My Euro or Pound Receiving Amount an Estimate?

When you enter a USD total, the conversion happens when the transfer is funded, so the EUR or GBP receiving amount is initially estimated. The final amount appears in the transfer details. Selecting an exact receiving amount, when offered, uses a different quote that shows the required USD total.

What Should I Do If My Bank Hasn't Received the Withdrawal?

Check the existing transfer details and the receiving account. Transfer Processed does not always mean the bank has made the money available yet. Do not send the withdrawal again. Contact WanderWallet through in-app chat or support@wanderwallet.io if it is taking longer than expected.
